christmas shopping is hard. and this year is the tightest budget i have had in a long time. just because i have a full time job doesn't mean i suddenly have money...right. seems my bills increased with my paycheck :( so if you get a present from me...you better appreciate it :) there aren't many going out this year, that's for sure!

something interesting...i got a page on my phone this morning and all it contained was a website. i am still debating whether or not to put up a link to it...but you know who you are. did you just want me to visit the page? or were you looking for a critique? or were you hoping i would link to it to generate hits to your page? hmmm....it linked to a personal site for arthur cundy...a fellow college student/web designer who is a devout christian. now my being a non-practicing catholic, it was interesting to me to read about someone who follows something so seriously. so what the hay...here's his page: cityslide. let me know what you think.

mia is doing fine, and gets to come home tomorrow! i'm sure bailey will be thrilled...now whenever jackie or i come home, he is ridiculous with wanting attention! he must get so lonely during the day, without a kitten to play with :( she will have to be put in jackie's room for a couple of days, so that she doesn't hurt her paws...but then she can run free! it was good timing too, because jackie and i are painting the living room this weekend, so both cats have to be contained for those two days anyway :) yes, we are still painting the room blue...despite a couple people that disagree with us. yes, it is going to be work *gasp!* but i'm not worried about the work...yes, we might get paint on the carpet...but not if we are careful. and there is something called paint remover if we are human and drop a little...plus it's only ONE room. it's not that bad. and if our landlords want us to paint it back, we will. not a hard thing to do. the only factor i'm worried about is the cost...but we don't need designer paint...meijer brand is good yet affordable..and we borrowed all of the supplies....so i think there is nothing to worry about...and that our living room is going to be beautiful when we're done :)

nice. very nice. i found a site that wasn't cookie cutter, and rhiannon rocks. i actually laughed out loud at some of the stuff on her site...and it made me rethink my site...i hate it. really, i do. i want to scrap it, and just start all over. maybe this weekend, while the paint is drying in the living room...that will be my project. that means i have to finish my tc project by then. bleh. i just got an email from andrew...i haven't heard from him since my birthday. he has apparently been holed up in his room playing civilization iii. he apologized for not spending time with people. i am not hurt. he is the one missing out on spending time with his friends while they are 5 minutes away. in two weeks, he will be moving back to evanston...and he chooses to spend all his waking hours playing a video game. you are ridiculous andrew. completely ridiculous. but if that makes you happy...have fun by yourself.

woohoo! i figured out how to make gifs on the fly using php :) since my site is on a shared hosting server, i can't use cold fusion to do neat tricks...but php is pretty cool...i even figured out how to use it with blogger...so that if i make a post, i can use a handwriting font to convert the text into an image...so that i can make all my posts use that font...pretty neat...i am trying to figure out how to improve our custom tag at work to create buttons on the fly. i think i may have found something cool.... :)

after all that complaining about getting bailey's claws out, i talked with jackie's aunt who is a vet, and she said that 1) declawing is not a bad procedure. the animal is in minimal pain and recovers quickly and 2) it does not make them bite more nor does it make them more clumsy. apparently bailey's problems are all due to his being a big cat, and an older cat. mia is the recommended age, so this morning i took her in to get her claws out. so now i am at work early, and i am super tired...coffee break already?

yep...one of my friends is pregnant! i'll give you a hint: it's not laura...but someone that i was best friends with in high school...who recently got married :) if you know me at all, you will know who it is :) congrats, happy woman! i am so excited for you! laura and i were ecstatic when we found out...laura almost cried :) so she is the first out of our circle of friends to get married and have a baby! we are super happy, and can't wait til molly/liam is born :) man, i'm getting old...that's for sure. my friends are starting families...wow. makes me feel like i have a long way to go before i start thinking about that...makes me wonder...hmmm....

target combined with amazon, so i added a whole bunch of new stuff to my wish list. Unless you know me, don't buy this stuff for me. I would feel guilty. Some of it is stuff I will buy for myself (like the ridiculously expensive stuff)...i just have to remind myself to save for it...*sigh*...

whew. long weekend. didn't do a whole lot...i spent a lot of time with my mom and dad...which was good since i don't get to see them very often...got a new dress for the christmas party on the 4th! it's pretty...black and long...long sleeves, but it comes slightly off the shoulder...jackie said she pictured the eighties no shoulders long sleeve dress...not quite :) if i find a picture, i'll post it...i was worried about being over dressed, but the rabaut's told me not to worry about it. better to be over dressed than under. christmas shopping. time to get gifts for everyone..i have a couple of ideas for everybody...maybe i will go early this year to buy everyone's gift...that would be nice to be done early for a change :) oh! guess who called me during break: dru! kinda threw me for a second when i picked up the phone...interesting...very interesting...never know what to expect when old boyfriends start calling on the holidays..

bleh...i'm sick...my birthday was fun...laura bought me dinner, and keith, josh, all came along...it was good food...then my sister, her roommate, laura, and jackie came to our apartment and hung out with me...not too many people...andrew never showed up...but oh well..i had a good time...then i woke up yesterday with a sinus headache...that and being hung over do not mix well together...so i have been downing vitamin c and water all day yesterday and today...today i have to give a presentation at work...i hope my medicine kicks in long enough for me to do well :) tonight i am going back to my parents for thanksgiving, and i will probably be there til sunday or saturday...my cats are going to be super lonely...so hopefully danielle will come by and play with them since she has to be back early for work...anyway, i have to get ready for work...and figure out where i put the medicine..

i saw harry potter! it was exellent! cute movie, with really good special effects...plus how can you go wrong with a movie about magic and spells? makes me want a magic wand.. :) tonight corinne and i were supposed to go out to eat, but the poor girl is still sick, so she had to cancel...but i am still going to spiral with the rest of the gang...should be a fun time...my sister told me she was going up there tonight too...which is weird because i have never been to the bar with my sister...ok, except for the dollar nightclub, but that place sucks, so i don't count it :) so tonight should be ok...then my parents are coming tomorrow for some good food :) then monday is my birthday! woohoo!

makin plans for my birthday weekend...so far on friday i am going to see "Harry Potter" at 10pm...and then on saturday corinne is coming up to visit...we are going to dinner at 6:30 and then going to the bar when laura gets off of work...should be a fun time...then on sunday my parents are coming up to take me out to dinner...and then monday is my birthday and laura and i are getting shit faced...well, i am anyway since i took tuesday off :) woohoo! it's gonna be a fun weekend... but it should be a relatively relaxing weekend :) everyone knows i can't take too much craziness...

woohoo! i got my pictures from dotphoto...i just uploaded the jpeg's from my digital camera, and they printed them out for me on photo paper, so i can bring them around and show them to people...give them to people..etc...and they are awesome! they look just like real film pictures! :) so if you wanted a copy (for those of you that know me and are actually in some of these pictures) you can go to dotphoto and get a copy of your favorite ones :)

since i am not on the cam all the time anymore, i decided to at least update the picture once a day..the archives, instead of showing the last 50 pictures, will now be a collection of webcam images that i or other people have saved. so when i find the motivation to change those...check back :)

on a lighter note, one week til my birthday! my mom told me she, my sister, and my dad are going to help me pay for a new dress for the holiday party that i got invited to for my gift. that rocks. i needed a new dress. :)

so we finally decided on plans for next fall. this week our landlord needed to know if we wanted to renew our lease. well, we couldn't decide if our apartment was worth waiting another year, but today they opened up our apartment to the public, so after some looking around, we decided we couldn't find anything closer to campus that was the same size or bigger and cheaper...so we decided to stay :) so since we are going to be here for a bit longer, jackie convinced me to want to paint our living room...if we were just staying here a year, i didn't want to paint...that's a lot of freakin work...but since it's going to be another year now, painting doesn't seem so bad :) our apartment is nice...if we could get the windows replaced, i think i would feel better about it...but i am happy living here, so another year will be good... :)

10 days til b-day :) woohoo! i also realized that i took tuesday (the day after my birthday) off so that i could celebrate on my birthday...but didn't realize that thursday of that week is thanksgiving. and my work gives thursday and friday as paid vacation days. so i only have to work mon and wednesday of that week, but get paid for the whole week! woohoo! now that's what i call a birthday!

well the meeting went wonderful! i got a lot of praise, and the customer loved the site :) not only that, but the customer is a law firm, and i got invited to their holiday reception...which according to my boss who goes every year, it is the best party ever! it's super dressy, but that's fine with me...it takes place at the frederik meijer gardens in grand rapids...and they look awesome! plus they will have a bunch of chefs...and entertainment...i can't wait :) our work has been steadily coming through the door now...so my job is a lot more secure :) i will be around til at least the spring...which makes me super happy. i love this job, and i will stay here for as long as i can. which looks like it will be a lot longer :) yay! now just to get school done...and i will be content :)

whew! went to work again late last night...and i stayed there til about 2am...but i finished the project! and with time to spare! now i can relax before our big meeting :) i heard back from colleen today...i had written her a couple days ago, so that i could send her the video of her wedding...complete with my crappy phone interruptions and battery failures...she just had time for a short reply though, so hopefully i will get to hear how she is doing soon :) alright, time for the meeting! wish me luck!

bailey and mia are actually getting along! i let mia out this morning when i got home, so that they could be around each other while i got ready for work...and mia started playing with bailey...she hid under the bed and popped out at him when he walked by...scared the crap out of him, but had me laughing! i didn't want to press things though, so i put bailey in my room while i am away at work...tonight i will try for a little bit longer...but i think they are starting to get used to each other! :)

wow, i had a pretty fun weekend. i have to give laura a call though..she is probably about to kill me...on thursday, i stayed at work til 5am working on a project...so on friday, i was dead...i planned on coming home from work and then going straight over to laura's to hang out with her brother, matt...well, i went back to my apartment and fed the cats...and then felt guilty about leaving them home alone again...so i laid down to sit with bailey for a couple minutes...well, i fell asleep because i was so exhausted and woke back up at 3am...oops. i am a horrible friend. poor matt. i hope he wasn't too bored. then on saturday, after i watched the game at my apartment, i went over and hung out with my sister for a couple hours... so today i slept in til about 2pm :) whew...and now i am at work again...hopefully i can finish a big chunk of work before tomorrow...this is the first big project i have worked on and i want to make it good...:) hopefully it will :) anyway, that was an exciting weekend...i am gonna redo the front image now that halloween is gone..i'm thinking something to reflect that my birthday is coming up...a couple balloons...or maybe a cake...mmm..cake :) anyway, look for some changes :)

had a good ole time with laura and vince last night...i went over to laura's and we carved pumpkins...laura's ICP pumpkin rocked :) her brother is coming out on friday...but my work is giving us a half day off so that we can go to lunch (on them) to celebrate having 100% uptime for our hosting and networking services. how cool is that? so sometime after i get home, i am supposed to go hang out with matt (laura's brother). should be a good time...i can't decide if i am going to tailgate for the u of m vs. state game this saturday...i might go to my parents to help my grandparents move...we'll see i guess...
