happy anniversary to bailey! one year ago today, well yesterday now, i brought the kitty home!! it was the best decision i have made in a long time...and i couldn't live without my furry friend. check out the photo album to see his cute little face :) yay for kitties!

should have known better...now every time i take the sims off "pause" to play, the game crashes. which means i downloaded a crappy file. oops. but the flowers are so pretty! i have a bunch of roses and daisies and other cool house plants...i also figured out how to make a pond and a lake in the backyard...ooooo... :)

i'm so pissed. campus ford sucks my ass. i turned in my car on christmas eve, so they didn't get to it until yesterday morning. they got the ok to start working on it at 3pm yesterday. the aaa guy came in today around 1:30 to figure out how much they were going to cover for damages. so i called at 4:45 and miraculously, no one knows what the deal is with my car. the service desk says the body shop has all the paper work, and the body shop says they have never seen my car. so they haven't even started working on it yet, even though we told them YESTERDAY to fix everything. what a bunch of idiots. so not only do i not know how long i am going to be car-less, but joel is in town TONIGHT, and i can't go see him and my other msu friends that i haven't seen in over a year. I HATE YOU CAMPUS FORD.

christmas was really good...but i did $1200 dollars worth of damage to my car on christmas eve...i was about to slide through a stop sign at the end of my street...so i turned my wheel to stop...and hit the curb...there weren't any dents or scratches on the outside, so i thought everything was ok...but it turns out i bent stuff under the hood and damaged parts of the wheel...doh. my sister had to drive all the way back out here to get me and then drive me home...then my parents had to drive me back to school...i felt like i was back in the dorms :) but i got a lot of cool stuff for christmas...my parents got me the bookshelf, coffee table, and end table from my wishlist, as well as a new monitor!! woohoo! so i can actually see the color navy blue now :) i also got the tom waits cd i asked for...so now i'm super happy :) but now i have to go call a cab to go to work...my car won't be fixed until the end of today...*sigh*...the real world sucks.

whew...laura's party was fun..i got to talk with corinne a whole bunch, and she came back to my place to see mia and our blue living room...but the most amazing thing was that i ran into one of the guys i used to work with at showcase cinema's westland, when i was 15...that was my first job and i worked there for 2 years...steve szura...that kid was my favorite to work with...and i couldn't believe he was at laura's last night! he came over and sat down and said "do you know who i am?"...it took me a second...and i was like "holy shit! what are you doing here?" it was great...he told me how he went to western...and that he has an awesome girlfriend of four years...we are both taking a break from school right now, but both plan to eventually get our degrees...that about made my night though :) anyway, the food last night was really good...and the wine we had was very tasty...but i got tired way too early like the old woman i am..and i wound up leaving around 2am...but it was fun :) i get to go home for christmas tomorrow...poor cats will be alone for three days...but it's almost christmas...woohoo!! :)

whew...christmas is almost here...i don't get to get home until monday, since no one will be here to feed the cats...i am just about out of money too...good thing i am going home for four days! otherwise, i'd starve! we have no food in our house...except for pasta and beef cubes...mmmm :) so i guess i wouldn't really starve..i can live off pasta and beef :) hopefully i will get to see colleen before i leave on thursday...i need to give her the wedding tape from july...oops :)

woohoo! i get to take off early today! seeing as the work is on hold for a couple projects until after new year's (since everyone is on vacation) i get to leave early today, and maybe both days i work next week! awww yeah!! :)

what a way to start a friday...the developer we hired back three weeks ago was laid off again today...turns out some of the business we were expecting didn't come through...one company ran out of money this year to do their project, and the other broke their contract with us, and decided to do everything themselves...even after we had finished 65% of the project already. so now i'm a little worried about how the new year is going to start...i turned my resume in to that one job, but i didn't hear back from them...i have decided i'm not going to leave crt until i have to...but it looks like that may be sooner than i thought :(

i am leaving to go home on monday...i would have left sunday, but no one is around to stop in and feed the cats...so i can't take long vacations...but they'll survive i think...if i feed them a lot on monday, and then come back a little early on wednesday...we'll see...i know they'll be lonely...poor kitties...

i love christmas. all my friends come home for the holidays. i can't believe how everyone spread out...colleen in florida, adam in minnesota, matt in vermont, and joel in massachusetts...and they are all coming home within a week or two! i don't know if i will get to see them all...but the few i do get to see will make it ok :) i miss all of you! i wish i had time to come out and visit everyone...i owe matt a visit...and i need to see adam's new dog...and colleen is pregnant (yeah, she was the one) so i need to see her and her new baby...*sigh*...they are all doing so great....it makes me happy :) yay christmas...

almost done with christmas shopping! only one more gift to get, and i have to pick up a gift certificate from a lady on christmas eve...that's about it! christmas presents were sparse this year...i only got something for my parents ...jackie and i decided our present to eachother was painting the living room :) and danielle and i decided to just settle with birthday presents (since mine is close to before christmas, and hers is on jan 13, close to after christmas) so that made shopping a lot easier :)

oh my god my body is mad at me. this weekend was really fun...friday i went out with andrew, julie, and haley to crunchy's...that was pretty fun...andrew is leaving for chicago today for good...so this weekend was his last weekend and he wanted to go out with everyone before he left... i had this giant 32-oz glass of beer at art's bar..man that thing was huge...then sunday i had a self-defense seminar from 12-3...that kicked my ass! i am super out of shape...but the instructor was impressed with my kicking ability :) i was deemed "kickboxing champion" by the end of the seminar, and they want me to come back to take thai boxing classes :) it's kind of expensive, but i really liked the class, so we'll see...but after yesterday, my body is aching all over...mostly just my upper body...bleh...plus having to come into work at 7am this morning didn't help...oh well...back to work i go...

it's official. i'm BROKE. after assessing my funds, after paying bills with the paycheck tomorrow, i will have a total of $130 dollars left for x-mas. and food. and gas. and whatever else. then after next week's check, after bills, i will have a total of $120 dollars left until jan 11. bleh. i am BROKE! :( and i need help figuring out my finances. anyone good at this that would be willing to help me out? i REALLY need it. obviously :)

looking more closely at the job opportunity...it looks like the salary is the same. starting is 36K/year...not 50K/year...which makes a BIG difference...big difference...might still go on the interview though...hmmm...

if i were to find a job that paid more...let's say 10K/year more...do you think i should take it? pros for staying at my current job: i love it. i love everyone i work with. we have fun, new customers all the time with different projects. we get a lot of vacation time and good benefits. i can pretty much make my own schedule and come/go whenever i want, as long as my work gets done and i work the 40 hrs a week. pros to the other job: job security is slightly higher. i get paid more. more benefits. (don't know about the vacation time). cons to my current job: job security is a little less. i won't get a raise when my anniversary comes around since our company can't really afford to at the moment...so pay will be less. cons to the new job: i won't know anyone. the atmosphere will not be as relaxed. i won't be able to take classes during the day should i need to finish my degree with a day class. the customer is the company, so the jobs will not be as different as the ones at my current job, so it could get boring. it is farther away from where i live by about 15 minutes...it will take me 25-30 minutes to get to work instead of 10-15. *sigh* all important things. basically, it boils down to taking a higher pay but sacrificing the work atmosphere. people have been telling me to just go on an interview to check out the place...maybe it is more relaxed than i think it is...but we'll see...big decision here..i have been with my current job for 2 1/2 years...long time to just up and leave...so we'll see...we'll see...

whew...weekend was not that eventful...i went to andrew's graduation on saturday with his family, and then out to eat with them...yes, believe it or not, andrew is actually graduating...i need to get my act together to finish my degree...then saturday night i drove home to my parents and got my new glasses!! i'll put a picture of them up when i get a chance...they are pretty cool :) then sunday was jessica's baby shower...it was nice, and i saw a bunch of girls from my high school there...two were already married and one had twins! i was shocked...and a little wierded out...all of a sudden i felt like i was ten...a good majority now of people i knew in high school are either married, have kids, or both. almost made me feel like i was behind or something...but there is no way i am ready for any of that yet...and not being ready made me feel a little young and immature...but hell...i guess it is better to feel that way and not be married than rush into something i'm not ready for....*sigh*...marriage = me not ready!

good news! the cable modem is back on and it is super fast...which it hasn't been since we moved in...hallelujah...i haven't had time to finish the new layout...sorry...maybe this weekend...i got accepted to take a hypermedia design class at state...for flash, etc...should be kinda fun :)

well the party last night was extremely fun! there was a live band...a ton of food...and the gardens were gorgeous! very romantic...and some really fun looking plants too...very cool...there were over 600 people there...so it was a huge event...they rented out the entire place...so everyone was spread out so it didn't seem too crowded...i wasn't overdressed...and i had a good time talking with my boss and a couple of other people that i met that night...*sigh* it was wonderful.. :)
