gettin ready to go out for new year's eve... i've never been to the bar on new year's... so this should be fun. i got a new shirt to wear and everything. amazing (if you know me, i don't buy clothes ever) :) my roommate and i are bringing our cameras... so look for some fun shots of the evening... i got each of us a bottle of champagne... i can't wait, since champagne is my favorite... mmm... tosti asti... mmm.. :)

just got back from the msu hockey game at the joe... we won :) it was a great time... and now i'm back at home in east lansing. i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow.. and we'll see if i can get surgery in before wed. how's that for new year's? bleh... i hate insurance.

hell yeah. read the below announcement! i'm putting the sticker on my car first thing tomorrow!! :) woohoo! i finally did it. now i just need to get the right tassel color (red instead of orange). but i'm keeping my orange one. my minor is engineering, so all that work in engineering should count for something :)

merry christmas everyone :) today was fun... got the vacuum i'd been hoping for :) here is some really good news though: i get to meet my half sister on jan 4th for the first time. now that should be interesting. she's eight years older than i am... we'll see how it goes. i'll probably be back in lansing on friday... and then i have new year's to look forward to. that is, if i don't have surgery before then. we'll see...

it's funny to read the archives sometimes, to see where i was a year ago. i forget that so much has happened in the past year. i finished school, got laid off twice, had an internship, lost someone close... all in a year. makes me wonder where i'll be by this time next year, or what will happen. so much can happen in a year... it's crazy. i feel like it's michigan weather... if i don't like what's happening... wait a year, it'll all change :)

went to 'have a nice day cafe' in pontiac last night... that place was fun when we went for a bachlorette party a year and a half ago... but apparently sat night is 80's and 90's night... it was FRIGHTENING with the people that came dressed up. from the sequin leotard with fringe, to the woman wearing a 'king' costume complete with crown and cape, to the women dressed in all leather carrying around a whip... it was entertaining to say the least :) we had a good time though, and now i'm resting back in lansing. i leave tomorrow to go home for 4 days... should be back on thursday. i've got to get tickets to the great lakes invitational game at the joe on the 29th... it's a family tradition, although it looks like state might not win it this year. that would suck. i think it's because i graduated. then our hockey team goes to hell. go state!

saw lord of the rings last night. it was awesome :) i really don't want to wait another year for the last one. tonight some friends are coming into town... should be a good time. no word on the surgery or the job. i guess we'll see what happens after christmas. i'm going home to my parents on monday and staying through thursday. should be a fun time with the family :) alright, time to do something productive: meijers here i come!

i'm going crazy. this cyst is a pain in the ass, literally. i found out that i can't extend my insurance past the end of the month. i also found out i can't schedule to have the surgery i need until after the 30th. so now i either wait for the surgery until i have found a new job and worked for a couple months (which still might not cover it since now it's a preexisting condition), or have it anyway and pay for it in installments. i'm going to try to ask the surgeon to give me an emergency surgery either on the 30th or the 31st, just so that i'm covered... but it's unlikely that he'll be able to do it. *sigh* i hate medical problems. either way, my new year's is going to suck. even if i don't have the surgery, the antibiotics i'm on make me sick (flagyl for those of you that care) if i drink alcohol with it. so no partying for me. i guess i'll be the d.d. again... but man, first my birthday, then new year's. argh. this christmas sucks.

finally got the final grades... 2 3.0's and 3 4.0's :) not bad... was hoping for better, but i pulled off the best semester of my college career. all and while working full time. goes to show what i could have done, i guess :) my roommate rocked the house by making dean's list this semester. woohoo! we rock :)

ah... the cyst returns. i have an appointment with a surgeon tomorrow afternoon to discuss my options. hopefully i can get by with only antibiotics this time, since i caught it earlier... but since it is recurring, eventually i'll need surgery to remove the damn thing. it hurts though. still no job, either. no job = no insurance = no surgery. so we'll see what happens over the holidays. i'm still remaining active, trying to whip myself into shape, since i can't seem to land an interview during the christmas season. turns out a potential lead for a job is now on hold until after the hiring person returns from vacation. doh. i knew that would happen. everyone is on vacation. i guess i'm on an unexpected one :) but i did graduate! haven't received the official email yet, but so far i have 3 4.0's and a 3.0 in my classes. i'm still waiting for the last grade to come in. but we might be having a close friends and family party for my graduation the week after new year's. it's still undecided though, and depends on my family. i vote for a night at the bar. i'd settle for that :) so at least there is some good news :)

this weekend was fun, but tiring. went and visited some friends on friday night.. and kept the roommate out of east lansing for the weekend. it was a needed getaway after some crazy ordeals over the week for her. i stayed at my parent's tonight and decorated the tree. it was nice to have dinner with my grandparents and my parents. only a week and a half til christmas. let the shopping insanity begin! :) still no word on a job yet. i must have sent out a billion resumes... well, actually, about 20. all over the state, plus a couple out of state ones as well. but not a word.. i probably won't get an interview until after the holiday season. sucks for me.

things are looking good at finding a new job. might even be here in lansing :) so keep your fingers crossed. time to hit the unemployment office today. how ridiculous is it to go twice in the same year? it's my fault for going back to crt, knowing my job outlook wasn't stable. oh well, it was fun while it lasted. my roommate is done with her finals today, so we're gonna celebrate tonight.. should be a good time. :)

i almost forgot to post the other exciting news... i get to be a bridesmaid in adam's wedding!! :) it'll be the first of my actual college friends that i get to be in their wedding... i can't wait :) it's gonna be a blast, and i'll actually be in shape by next october. so as if it wasn't great enough that i get to go to the wedding, now i actually get to be in it :) woohoo!

and the relief sweeps over.... I'M DONE WITH SCHOOL!! :) i passed my finals with flying colors... now to get the final grades back, and my "welcome, alumni" email... i'll be proudly placing the sticker on the back of my car "MSU alumni" hehe... whew! i also started a fitness program yesterday, to help me deal with the stress of finals... i will be lifting at fitness usa mon-wed and i started up muay thai again tonight after a month hiatus due to my surgery. so i'll be doing that tues-thurs. four days of getting my butt kicked should whip me into shape, no? i forgot how bad that class kicks my ass... i'll sleep good tonight, that's for sure :) i am also trying to plan a cruise for spring break with my roommate. i figured out how much i could save each month for it to work... so come february, we'll check the funds and see how feasible it is for us to go. i'm still not sure i can afford it... but we'll see. it would be fun, since it's her last spring break... and last time i went anywhere, i got the montezuma crap for the majority of it. it sucked. so i need a break, and i'm done with school!!! :)

last night was really fun. a friend of my mom's gave us free tickets to a holiday concert with julie andrews and charlotte church :) we wound up in the 2nd row! and seeing as how i love julie andrews, i was more than thrilled. charlotte was ok... but it was so fun to see mary poppins live :) two more days and no more school! i have a paper and a final due tomorrow, and then two finals on tuesday... almost there! my roommate and i decided we are going to celebrate after her final on thursday and go out to the bar. we're saving points so we can get drunk and still split a pizza afterwards. should be a good time :)

i'm an idiot, basically. i got a 12 pack of pop to put in my trunk, so that i could save money while i'm at work and class. i used to have to buy the 20 oz for $1.25 every day for class, but now i could just grab one from my trunk. it worked out nicely that it was cold outside, so now my pop is not only cheap, but it's also cold. but then i remembered that it has gotten too cold over the past few days, and that my pop is going flat from being frozen and then rethawed. so i go today to take it out of my trunk, forgetting the fact that not only does pop go flat when it gets frozen, but it also makes it explode! oops. so now i have a big ice chunk of diet cherry coke lining my trunk. *sigh*. i suck. so now i'm out the couple bucks for the 12 pack, plus i have to buy pop for class, plus i have a messy trunk. so much for that plan :)

i don't know whether to be amused or offended...but a sales person called me this morning on my cell phone...and i gave them a hard time...any time they asked me if i was interested in something i would say "a little" or "not really"...so then they tried to tell me they would send me a whole bunch of magazines...that i didn't want...and i told the girl that, and she replied "you need to get a personality or something" and hung up on me. i actually got a sales person to hang up on ME! i laughed...and hopefully she will spread the word and i won't get any more sales calls. but that's the trick people...give them a hard time and they hang up on you! :) hehehe...

mia is doing really well :) she and bailey were not happy that we had to lock them up all day saturday while we painted...but they seem happy now...she is slightly limping, but no where near as bad as poor bailey was :) she even tries to play, and we have to stop her so her little feet will heal...

so yes, we are a subscriber to what formerly was excite@home. bleh. no cable modem for us for a week or so...they claim 14 days...and that we will get credited 2 days for every 1 that we are down. that's a bunch of crap. since i moved, i have had nothing but trouble with that freakin modem. you'd think that they would have had this figured out way before, when my bills stopped saying 'excite' and started saying 'at&t'. they knew way back then that they were gonna switch. grrr..
anyway, we now have a blue living room! it looks so good! jackie and i love it! friday night, i passed out at like 10:00pm on the couch...oops. i'm a dork...then woke up saturday to paint...and paint we did all day long...we didn't finish til 10:30 that night...and then cleaned up til about 11:30...but it was well worth it :) everything looks like it goes together now...we just need to start decorating with pictures and mirrors and stuff...i can't wait...

i think someone has been posting a link to my website. i just got an email from someone online who claims to have paid for pictures of me... which i find hilarious, cause whatever those pictures are, they aren't of me. someone emailed me saying they saw my profile at 'imlive.com'... but i've never even heard of the site. how odd. so i'm trying to find the profile that links to me. sometimes girls online will pretend to be someone else... i've seen it happen a bunch of times. so that sucks. but i emailed the person back saying there must be some mistake. kinda funny on a tuesday morning...

and the countdown begins... 8 days until school is done! a week from tomorrow is my last final. i took both monday and tuesday off of work to study... one last study session :) then i am taking a break from school. i'll probably come back for a masters, or at least another bachelor's. i know i will miss it once i'm done for a while. but i need to work a couple of years before i decide to go back. save some money, get settled somewhere... i don't even know where i am living in 6 months. so once i get more stuff figured out, i'll come back to school. but for now, i'm almost done!!

so to all of you that have tried to view the live cam, if the cam is turned off, you should now see an "offline" image... otherwise it will be a pic that's updated every 3 seconds. i'm working on a script to tell how many people are online watching, and a chat script... so we'll see if i can't get that to work...
