i had a free ticket to go see phantom of the opera tonight at the wharton center... man, i love that show. i saw it once when i was 14... 10 years ago. when i saw it then, my sister and i memorized the play, and used to take turns singing the parts... so of course i still knew every word... and the phantom this time was better than when i saw it before. he was much scarier, more threatening... and had the vocals to do the part proud :) i need to go to plays more... i miss going to shows...

so the interview, though very short (only 20 minutes) i think went fairly well. however, they aren't looking for someone full time. doh. so that sucks. i still may have another interview with another company next week sometime... so keep your fingers crossed on that one :) other than that, nothing new. been watching a lot of tv lately. thursday is still my favorite night. can't beat scrubs. :) muay thai has been kicking my ass lately. my shoulders have been really sore... i don't think my bed is helping much either. it's too stiff. i need to add some cushioning, i think. maybe some eggshell stuff from meijers would do the trick :)

so i made it through another round of interviews! the one i went to on tuesday was the first round, and apparently they liked my answers on the exam, because now i have an interview scheduled for tuesday to talk with the director. the job is in southfield (14 mile and telegraph) so it would be closer to my detroit home... but still farther away from all my friends. so that would sort of suck. but hey, it's a job!! :) no word yet on the other one that i was hoping for... but apparently i won't hear anything now for another week. *sigh* other than that, no big news. the job search still continues...

i just did my taxes... woohoo! i just received money for the trip! jamaica, look out :) this is the long anticipated trip... and it's only 5 weeks away! i've only been on a crazy trip like that once... when i went to cancun two years ago. but i got the infamous montezuma crap and was sick for 4 out of the 6 days i was down there. and i mean ridiculously sick. so this time, we picked a place where the water is filtered... so no sickness for me! just lots of sun and relaxation. thanks to the refund i just got for my taxes :) man, i can't wait :)

so i've found a couple side projects to not only occupy my time, but help me out financially. thank god! in the meantime, i'm still looking for more side jobs to save even more money... still no word on the job opportunities. i will hopefully be interviewing in the beginning of next week. a couple of leads, but nothing that looks promising yet. it's gettting closer to the two month mark of being unemployed. i need a job. now.

i got it! i hit 51 lbs today :) just 17 more to go, to my goal. rock! so i should be well into it by summer :) i can't wait... it will be the first summer in a long while that i wore shorts comfortably. woohoo!

what am i doing up at 5:30am? yeah, i don't know either :) because i can :) not a whole lot to do today... meet with a friend about his site... tomorrow is the big weigh in day... if i lose 3/4 of a lb, i get my 50 lb magnet, meaning i have lost 50 lbs :) i'm teetering on the 49.25 lb mark... it would rock if i could get it tomorrow :) my goal is to lose a total of 68 lbs... so i've got 18 more to go :) not too much longer!

ebay rocks. i just made $70. $50 for the visor, and $20 for shorts. rock. now i just need to scour my room and find more stuff to sell :) hmmm... i don't need that printer, do i? just kidding :) good news on the job front. i have an interview next week, and i'm excited. still don't know what day, but woohoo! if all goes well, i could have a job by the 1st of the month! so keep your fingers crossed, and i'll keep you updated. the weight loss is still in effect. haven't given up on that either :) i've added more exercise to my routine, so that now i'm going to fitness usa 3 times a week and doing muay thai 2 times a week. last night at muay thai, i talked with my instructor, and he asked if i wanted to test for my level 1!! i am super excited about it! there are 3 levels to muay thai... and level 3 is instructor level. so i don't know how far i'll make it.. but i hopefully can someday be at least a level 2. anyway, level 1 testing is supposed to be the most physical.. so i need to whip myself into shape for it. about the trip... money doesn't seem to be the biggest problem preventing us to go... now it might depend on if i can get time off from the job. we'll see if #1, i get the job, and #2, how the first week goes to see if i can afford to miss work. definitely, if my job needs me, it obviously comes first. i have just been really, really looking forward to this trip... and it might be the last time i can afford to go anywhere. at least for a long while. so keep your other fingers crossed for that one :)

my room looks like a bomb went off. i don't understand how being unemployed actually makes me less willing to do things around the house. you'd think that since i'm stuck here all day, i'd want to clean it. it's never been dirtier, i'm afraid. so that's my goal for this week. to get my apartment back in order. that, and find a job, and get a site done for a friend. side jobs rule :)

so i tried to do rentacoder but they want my s.s. number in order to pay me. unfortunately, collecting unemployment limits you on the non-full time work you can accept. if it's not under the table, i can't do it. sucks. maybe i should look into child care :) someone need me to come clean their house for $10/hour? :)

wow. i'm really slacking, so it seems. no updates since tuesday? man! well, here's the news so far... no job yet, but i have an interview on the 20th for an east lansing job. so cross your fingers. i also got a call from someone in massachusetts, but won't hear back from them until monday. so at least i have something to look forward to. secondly, back when i still had a job, my roommate and i planned on taking a vacation during her spring break this semester. we finally nailed down plans, but now i am lacking the funds. so i am scrounging the best i can. i found a side job that turns out to be good for half of the money. the other half, i am trying to find other side jobs.. and i even started selling stuff on ebay. need a palm pilot? i don't (since i have no job) so i'm selling mine here. that should be a good one. have some extra dough and want to send it to a worthy cause? paypal it to me@carrie.cc :) you have no idea how long i have been looking forward to this trip. it would crush not only my dreams, but also my roommates if we can't go. but this is life, and she will understand if i'm too broke. that's what happens when you don't have a job. but if i manage to land a job before feb 1st, we can still go! :) so even if you don't have any contributions.. maybe you know of a job anywhere in the u.s. that i could apply to :) here's my resume have a blast :)

today was pretty boring. got up at noon. did a little job searching. watched some tv. nothing exciting. the weekend was fun... my grad party was great. my sister also got her engagement ring... it's pretty cute. so congrats to her :) meeting my half sister was interesting. not very emotional (only a little at the end) and she's very nice, and really outgoing. we took pictures, but i won't post them online. i still have to respect her privacy, even if i don't for the rest of my friends that i post on here :) i'm going to try and contact msu again for the potential job. haven't heard from anyone, so i'm going to keep trying. i'm making a little side money helping my roommate with some side jobs... so i'm keeping afloat. in other news, my sister turns 22 on monday, so she's having a party this saturday. should be a fun time. get to revisit my old apartment building (the oaks) since that's where she lives now. ah, the memories :) something else exciting happened on saturday... i got my diploma in the mail! woohoo! now i just need a frame... i'm gonna go to kinkos tomorrow and make some copies. that way i can hang it both at home, and at my new job. how fun :) alright, i need to go live some night here this week... and update the freakin cam picture. i've been slacking since i got laid off. i need to cut that out :)

so yeah, i know... i've been slacking on the updates. sorry about that. haven't been doing anything worthwhile to write about. new year's was ok.. from what i remember. everything past 12:15 is a blur. so that sucked. good news about the surgery. my doctor told me that i could wait to have it, and gave me a ton of free samples of antibiotics to tied me over until i can afford to have it. so that worked out really well :) and in other news, i am having family and close friends get together this saturday night at malarkey's in westland to celebrate the graduation :) so that should be a good time. it's also a sort-of engagement party for my sister, who got engaged recently. i say sort-of, because they haven't really planned on getting married for at least another two years... so that's a long time to wait. i'll be more excited when it gets closer, i think :) other than that, no job yet... not even an interview. *sigh* i hate being jobless. i need something to do in my spare time, other than look for jobs. it gets old quickly.
