so i've found a place to live... my mom and i drove to champaign tues afternoon, spent the night, and then went apartment hunting all day wed. i found a good size one bedroom with a balcony... it should be pretty fun. i plan on buying a bird feeder to entertain the cats while i'm at work :) they're gonna love it. doing the six hour drive down there wasn't bad either. it gives me hope that i will be able to come back and visit often, if i get homesick. make that, when i get homesick. in other news, i leave for jamaica sunday... the long awaited trip has arrived! :) so i'll be gone for a week in the nice, sunny, warm jamaica sun... and i'm taking a ton of pictures. putting them on my site will give me something to do when i get all settled into my new place. i doubt i'll be able to update from there... so you'll have to wait until i get back :)

so the big news: i found a job! as of march 17, i will be an employee at human kinetics in champaign, illinois. yep, i'm moving out of michigan. i'm nervous about leaving, and i'm really sad to be leaving everything behind. unbelievably sad, actually. but i think this job is going to be really great... the people are awesome, the hours are great, and the benefits are really good. i think it will be worth it to move down there... i'll just be lonely for the first couple of months. so friends in michigan, be prepared for me to come and visit a lot :) i'm only six hours away, so i'm planning on driving a lot :) plus if i get really bored, i am two hours away from chicago, st. louis, and indianapolis. so that should be interesting. now comes time for me to find an apartment, and plan the big move... i'll keep you updated... and i should be online more when i get down there... oh joys of the internet :)

so i decided... if i get a dog, i would get a yellow lab. i love those freakin dogs. and if i am moving by myself somewhere soon, then i'm getting a dog. end of story :) dog parks are a great way to meet new people, as is puppy class :) so if i am moving... i am getting a dog! i figured a puppy would be the best to introduce to my cats, rather than an adult dog... then the puppy could learn that bailey will pretty much rule the house. alright, enough about the animals... i'm nervous about tomorrow. i will have the town to myself after 2:30pm... any ideas on what i should do around town by myself? my friends from chicago won't be able to come down and visit, so i have to entertain myself. wish me luck :)

man, just when i thought things were looking grim... a new hope :) i got a potential job offer today... but it's for a company in ft. myer's florida! it will be interesting to see how things pan out in the next week or so... i will have some major decisions, that's for sure!

some sad news... one of the jobs i was hoping to get put the job position they were hiring for on hold. it was in michigan... so i was hoping i could get it if champaign didn't work out... back to the drawing board...

update on the job in champaign: i am visiting the place this friday, and then i decide whether or not to take it. champaign is two hours away from chicago... and six hours away from my family and friends in michigan. pretty far from both places. if i take the job, i will be moving probably next week. talk about short notice :) so i'll keep you all posted... so far it's wait and see...

went to work out today... and in the middle of my run, my hand caught the wire to my headphones, and the walkman on the treadmill came tumbling to the ground... oops. so now my walkman is busted. i need a new one before wednesday... otherwise i just can't quite get into my run. oh well. i should get one of those arm-band mp3 players. then i could just play a bunch of mp3's, and not worry about dropping the player. :) but then i can't play cd's... but how often do i really need to play a cd? really, never. hmm... best buy, look out :)

here is another interesting fact... everyone i know is sick. i'm serious. i'd say at least 90% of the people i have talked to in the past week have been very ill. myself included. i'm feeling much better today, but i just thought it was crazy how many people have been ill lately. my sister had bronchitis, her boyfriend had pneumonia, another friend had strep throat, i had a mild sinus cold, my other friend is sick with a flu-like cold... it's everywhere. odd...

happy valentine's day. i hate this holiday. even when i was dating people, i hated this holiday. i don't think there should be one day every year to celebrate love. that's crap. it should be every day. or at least multiple times a year. anyway... no plans tonight... maybe a bar trip might be in order after my last post drama... plus, i died my hair :) that's always fun to celebrate :) i'll post a pic soon... you can tell me if you like it...

i'm having a nervous breakdown, i think. not really... but i'm really stressed about the next two weeks. in that time, i have to decide whether or not i am moving and starting a new life in champaign, illinois, for a job. i am having trouble deciding if i can leave michigan... leave everything and everyone i know... all within two weeks. i need people's opinions... but in the meantime... i'm really, really stressing. i wasn't prepared at all for this... don't know if i can manage... i'll keep you updated...

i swear, i'm picking a new career. no job opportunities, and i am starting to feel out of practice for not working for the past two months. i'm trying to get resumes out to companies... but i keep getting sidetracked by side jobs. need to focus my energy... need to find a job... argh...

well, the phone interview was rescheduled due to my interviewer calling in sick... funny, because i am sick myself with a cold... so wednesday is the big day now... tomorrow marks the 2 month anniversary of me having no job. i'm praying i don't see 3...

i had fun this weekend... went to a "stamping/scrapbooking" party that a friend of mine put on... didn't buy anything but had fun making the pages... i was also very impressed with the redecoration project my friend completed for her room... very nice! :) she claims she got inspired by "trading spaces"... i don't blame her. if i had my own space for a while, i'd go all out too :) my other friend came up to east lansing to hang out... and we wound up going down to ann arbor to celebrate a birthday. fun for all! :) as for the job search... i have a phone interview tomorrow at 1pm... so no one call me! i went and bought all the supplies i need to start mass mailing some resumes out. i plan to do about 100 a day... so we'll see how far i get starting tomorrow. i'm hoping for at least one interview possibility! anyway, other than that, life is grand. i still need a job, but only 3 weeks til vacation. :) ah, i can't wait.

ouch. i did my boxing class tonight... and i am whipped. but in a good way :) for the new "aerobics" part... since the class is only me and one other person, we run drills inside the boxing ring. it's pretty fun, and you get the feel of what it would be like to actually compete with someone. not that i'm going to be doing that anytime soon... but it's still pretty fun. plus, i got a few good compliments about how i'm a good boxer, and i have really hard hooks and crosses :) aww yeah... i don't mess around :)

for one of the jobs i'm applying for, they want an online portfolio of at least 5 previous works. hmm... looks like i might have to drag my flash skills out for this one... but i think i'm going to try and make it in cold fusion. that's what i'm certified in anyway... should be cake, right? :)

so i have an interview! granted, it's just a phone interview, but hey, beggars can't be choosy :) it's for a job in champaign, il... a bit far from here... but a job is a job at this point. it's a college town, i would say comparable to east lansing... although i don't think they have a major city right by... but chicago is only 2 hours away :) not bad, not bad...

i thought it might be time to step up the activity level... so i've now committed to taking "boxing aerobics" at the school where i take muay thai. it's an hour before my muay thai class... so i figured i would try it for a month and see if it kills me :) i needed to add more cardio to my weekly workout sessions... and since i was there every tues-thurs anyway, i figured it couldn't hurt :) the weight loss is still coming, although it's been slowing way down. i think it might be muscle gain, since i started weight lifting... at least, that's what i hope it is :) other than that, no word on the job search. i keep applying to new postings every day... the place i had hoped to interview with this week just extended the job posting for another week. that makes me nervous... and makes me lose any confidence i had. so cross your fingers.
