ok, so i didn't get quite as many photos as i had wanted... our first night, we went to the casino, but i forgot about the 'no photo' policy, and was subsequently escorted out of the casino after attempting to take a photo of raychell at her favorite machine. doh. and the second night, after a torrential downpour in chicago, we headed out to mullen's (bar in wrigleyville) and i proceeded to drink to my little heart's content... therefore the photos are just ok, considering my alcohol tolerance :) but feel free to see our fun weekend... it was a great time! :)

back from a good weekend... we had a great time, but i'm glad to be home. sleeping on a deflated air mattress wasn't the best... but that was my own drunken fault :) i'm looking forward to my bed though :) i'll post the pictures later... right now i'm trying to take care of a crazy dog and two neglected cats :)

so i took some advice from a guy at work, and decided to start using my canon to take my "webcam" photos... they'll turn out much better... not so grainy, and without that crappy green hue to everything :) i can also then get other shots than just me sitting looking at my monitor :) look out! ;)

it's friday... thank god! only half a day of work left... and a 3 day weekend filled with dancing, alcohol, and single women!! ;) tomorrow we leave for chicago and the casinos, and then it's party time! i'm really looking forward to it, as if you couldn't tell :)
lily had her last round of shots at the vet today... at 14 and a half weeks the chunker weighed in at 30.5 lbs! she is scheduled for her spay surgery for the end of june... and then we'll be done with the vets other than her heartworm test and yearly check ups! woohoo! she's a healthy, happy girl... little rowdy at times... but a GREAT dog... i couldn't be happier with her :) i was worried, since she was my first dog ever, that i wouldn't know what i was getting myself into, and i'd regret it. not a chance :) so a suggestion to anyone moving into an area where they know no one... get a dog!!! it makes things a thousand times better :) oh hell, even if you know people... get a dog. they're the best :)

puppies are tough. i have a yard outside... and it's a decent sized yard... but it's not fenced in. hence lily can't just be let outside to wander around while i get ready for work. so i confine her to just the living room and the kitchen while i get ready... and she usually stays out of trouble. however, i seriously think my cats are trying to kill her. poof managed to figure out how to get my bedroom door open, leaving enough space for lily to see the rabbit's foot on the floor... and yep... guess who gobbled that up in the time it took me to say "lily, off!". *sigh* so poor girl had to spend the morning getting it out... yuck. i'm about to just throw away all the cat toys in the house... but i feel so guilty... dammit! if they'd just keep them in the basement! so i was almost late to work... and then when i sign on... i find spyware on my computer. argh. so it took me a bit to poke around and figure out how to get that off my computer... drama. so this morning is not turning out the best... let's hope the rest of my day gets better. no plans tonight... pick up the dry cleaning, pick up around the house... just my normal thursday night routine. gotta take some time to work with the pup on the training stuff for class... i also found out that i have let her get away with being a "bully"... oops. is it friday yet??

aahhh... i got a good night's sleep last night... going to bed at 9pm allows you to get in a good amount of hours :) it was much needed... and now i feel well rested. tonight is puppy class! it's gonna be rough... i tried to keep lily's attention at the vet's office when another lab puppy was there... forget it! so tonight will be a tough one... i'm gonna have to tire her out before we go to class... or she will rip my arm right off. this one's for jackie:

yeah... it's wednesday... almost friday... and almost time for a trip to chi-town! i haven't been there in over a year... i love that city! i also haven't been to new york city since i was 16... maybe i should plan a trip out there soon. i'm a big fan of big cities with a lot going on... i LOVE walking around chicago on a bright summer day... eating a giradelli's milkshake outside... mmmmm... :) i wish the city were closer... it's just far enough that i never found the time (or the money) to just head up there for the weekend/day. yeah, i know... excuses, excuses... i've got a ton of 'em ;)

i'm in a surprisingly good mood, despite only getting only four hours of sleep, and my muscles being sore from getting my ass kicked yesterday at boxing :) but i was boppin around to music this morning... smiling... it's a good day so far :) although, i'm sorry to hear about my sister's troubles today... so if you see her, give her a hug... she could use it :) and it's not monday anymore! woohoo! no plans for tonight other than doing the house errands i've managed to avoid by leaving town last weekend... nothing major... few dustballs to pick up and clothes to put away... on the whole my house stays pretty clean. at least, until lily gets bigger and starts really shedding up a storm... oh boy. i also need to get in and get my bridesmaid dress altered... so that's the plan for tonight... might get to bed a little early... either that, or work in a nap sometime... mmmm... coffee...

the wedding was fun on saturday... the place where they had the reception was beautiful... right on the lake... so i tried to take some photos of the sunset... it was so pretty, i don't think i did it justice :) noelle's wedding was, i think, the prettiest i've ever been to... she had white linen chair coverings, and white roses scattered all over... whoever decorated the place did a fantastic job. all the dresses were pretty, and noelle herself looked like a fairytale... simply gorgeous. we had fun out on the dance floor, and into the early morning... it was a great night. almost made me sad to come back to illinois... but i made it home, and i'm glad to be sleeping in my bed again. anyway, here are the photos of the wedding:

and another weekend in michigan... but after this one... i'm in illinois for a month! woohoo! :) but then i'm making up for it in july, with having to go there three weekends in a row. bleh. oh well... once summer is over, i don't have much going on until the holidays :)
i went to my first puppy class last night... and it looks like it will be a lot of fun. a lot of work... but a lot of fun. i already see a ton of mistakes that i have been making with lily... and i can tell i need lots and lots of practice. she catches on really quickly... so it's more of me learning, than it is her. she is also almost housetrained!!! she has started letting me know when she needs to go outside... but it is still sort of subtle... she will only come to me once and whimper... and if i don't catch it, she runs off and i find the mess :( doh. but it's an improvement!! :) my next big thing is to stop her from tearing up all my clothes, and to walk next to me on the leash... *sigh* one thing at a time... :)

ya know... i'm beginning to wonder what exactly it is that i am allergic to. every year, for as long as i can remember, the months of may/june have left me ill. not flu-ill... more like a head-cold ill. the recent years have been mostly congestion/headaches/itchy-watery eyes and sore throats... when i was younger, it was more of a chest cold, with coughs and fevers. so who knows if it has been the same thing each year, or if it has changed... but it's definitely seasonal. it was always interesting to see if i could make it to my dance recital each year, since it always wound up at the end of may or june. whatever it is... it sucks. i woke up today and could barely breathe... now my eyes itch like crazy... argh. i get pollen alerts via email... and i've been trying to remember to keep track, to see how i feel days that the pollen count is high. one of these days, i'm going to have to just buckle down and go get an allergy test done. not that brave yet though ;) it doesn't help that when i went away to college, i also developed an animal allergy... my cat sleeps on my pillow at night, so that can't be helping :) it's better than it was two years ago... but since my allegra prescription ran out, i haven't felt the need to refill it... i just live with a couple sneezing fits here and there... and i would bet money that's what is bothering me today... maybe i should just get those hairless cats and dogs... no... that's even more terrifying than the allergy test! ;)

so i am impressed with the daisies that are growing in my yard, and while i was out yesterday, i snapped some photos of them... they actually turned out pretty good! have i mentioned how much i like my new camera? ;)
i also planted some flowers in a flower box on my porch... if those ever make it and i don't kill them, i'll post photos of those when they bloom! :)

well, the beast is doing better... she was super sweet up until last night... when she did her usual lunge-bite trick... and ripped a giant hole in my tshirt! my friends and family are probably applauding her, since i get made fun of for having too many tshirts to begin with.. but it was my hard rock chicago shirt, and i'm sad that i had to throw it out. yes, the hole was THAT big, and it was in the middle of my stomach. grrr... she also ripped a hole in my corderoys, that i didn't find until i did laundry yesterday... i wonder how long i was walking around with a big hole in the back of my leg? oh well... i think that one can at least be mended. i took her for a long walk on sunday since it was so nice out. it turned out to be longer than i intended... we wound up walking 3 miles (a mile and a half to the union and back). it was great socialization though... EVERYONE stopped to pet her, including super tiny kids. one little girl was screaming at the dog... but not because she was afraid, thank god :) she was so excited she would run up and scream at the top of her lungs and wrap her arms around lily. lily took it like a champ :) so i got my exercise in yesterday! i also took more photos of her... and i am proud to say that i may have my album up soon. phew. maybe by next week? we'll see.

what a rough day... lily has a bladder infection... which means she is going ALL over the house... *sigh* as if housetraining wasn't hard enough... i keep going outside every 15 minutes... but if you've ever had a bladder infection, you know it's a rough time. so after a trip to the vet, she seems to be doing better... but in the meantime, i'm getting nothing done that i needed to do this weekend. i won't be home for the next 2 weekends in a row... so whatever i don't get done this weekend will be rough to live with... laundry is piling up... floors desperately need to be washed... etc... argh. joys of being a dog owner...

well lily ripped a hole in my only pair of jeans... so i got to go shopping last night. i hate old navy jeans... even though they make really cute styles, and they fit... they are always WAY too long... even their "short" styles. so i always wind up buying gap pants... their "ankle" length is just about perfect. but old navy had some really cute shorts and tshirts... so i got two shorts and surprisingly, i got the "girl" tshirts... hey, there's a first time for everything!! and i had to laugh in the dressing room when i tried on a pair of capris... the damn things fit me all the way down to my ankle! everyone would assume i was just wearing normal pants. damn these short legs! :)
it's raining like crazy out today... hopefully it stops before later... on wed i had to walk lily around our block while it was pouring. it sucked. oh man... wait til it snows :(

a couple of guys at work were talking about these types of blogs one day, and i had run across this site a while ago... but since my new camera has been working out so well, i might start one... photoblogs are so fun... i love screening through the photos to see the different viewpoints everyone has on their world. the only things i can't get into taking or really appreciate are pictures of flowers. i know they are pretty, and i enjoy their color... but i can't find photos that really capture the flower's vibrant nature i see in real life... not yet, anyway. maybe i haven't been looking at the right photos ;) who am i kidding... i still can't find a place to house all my personal photos... let alone random pictures i want to take! i need to buy a server somewhere, so that i can just dump my site and everything i could ever want on it... check out my message board if you have any ideas on a good place to host/co-locate/rent space on a server!!

ouch. i hurt. i went to my first boxing class last night... ow ow ow. my calves are so sore from all that boppin around... and i won't be able to lift my arms soon. we did tons of heavy bag work... and on friday we are 'dancing' which everyone warned me is the complete hell workout. oh good :) and at the end of every class, we do 60 push ups and 400 crunches. yeah. and normally at the beginning, everyone runs a mile and a half. crap. i'm gonna puke on friday, i know it. but if i keep going every week, i should be in shape in no time! ;) maybe by jackie's wedding in three months? we'll see :) it was actually fun... i can get out a lot of stress on the bags... i felt great by end of class... exhausted... but great. if you are stressed, try boxing. it helps!
in other news, i am boycotting american idol. latoya is gone :( i have something going on over the next couple of weeks, so i guess i would have missed it anyway... oh well. the rest of this week is not busy... sometime this weekend i will have to mow my lawn... my cat is trying to kill my dog. he always liked to bring me his mice, and line them up... well lily decided they looked like chicken nuggets and ATE them... i didn't know what to do... i knew that peroxide makes dogs puke... so down it went and voila... no more mice in the tummy. :( drama... but before the craziness, i took more pictures of her... she's 12 weeks, and weighs 25 lbs!! she's growin like a weed!!

i am finally getting my ass back in gear. i'm so sick of feeling out of shape... so i found a boxing class again. it's not muay thai... but it's still gonna kill me. i can't wait ;) that was such a stress reliever... and i ALWAYS do better in a class than working out on my own. when there are other people there watching you, and keeping you on track... it is way more embarrassing to be out of shape and huffing and about to puke... so much more motivating. i'm hoping there are other people there around my same level (beginners) so that i don't get my ass kicked every week. that was hard when i started muay thai... getting paired with people who were really good. and it hurts. i used to come home with many, many bruises. i get a free trial starting tomorrow, and then i can go any m/w/f starting at 5pm. that gives me enough time to go home, let lily out and feed her... and then i can bring her on a walk after class, when the heat has died down, and i need a cool down anyway... IF i am not ready to pass out ;) no time like the present to start working out... especially if i have to get ready for jackie's wedding in august... my weight has been creeping lately... time to get back on track!

it was a short weekend... i didn't get to see my friends as much as i wanted... but that's what happens when everyone is busy, and i fall asleep early :( lily has me getting droopy at 9:30pm nowadays... otherwise, she could care less when i went to sleep, but she is HUNGRY at 5:30am! which is fine, considering monday through friday i have to be at work at 7am... so she's a great alarm clock ;) i had fun with her this weekend... we walked up to the park near my parent's house (garden city park)... it's about a mile away... so a two mile walk was good for her... it tired her right out! she did however, find a mud puddle, so it was straight to the hose when we got home ;) then my neighbor let us borrow her kiddie pool, and lily being true to her name, jumped right in :)
i also got a call from my friend vinnie... and yep... everyone, vince is engaged! so congratulations to him and sarah!! no date yet... so keep me posted, vinnie :)

in case you were not aware, the big friends finale is on tonight... a friend from work is coming over and we are going to watch the whole two hours! :) the theme song for that show was our senior class song... although, i didn't vote for it. but it should be a fun night. it should be interesting trying to entertain a puppy during the two hours of the show... i hope julie doesn't mind ;)

yep! i got a new camera!! i found a good deal on a canon a80... and it's AWESOME! i love it!! i figured out how to slow the shutter, and i took a picture of the dusk sky tonight... the first couple came out completely black... but i finally figured out how to let enough light shine through... and this camera really captured the bright colors!
it's blurry, only because i am holding it without a tripod... but the colors still come through :) i also took some photos of lily... nothing spectacular, but she's a good poser... i'll get the hang of these photos yet...

lily had her vet appointment today... and at 10 and a half weeks... the chunk-o weighs 21.1 lbs!!! whew! i was worried she was overweight (as everyone keeps telling me not to let her get so big)... but the vet assured me that she is NOT overweight... she is just a BIG dog! (she's not fat... she's just big-boned!) he was impressed with her... i got her to 'sit' and 'down' on command :) now if only i could housetrain her that easily ;) everything else checked out ok... so far so good! everyone loved her... i was so proud :)
this weekend i'll be traveling back to michigan again on friday night, for mother's day weekend. turns out i am actually in jackie's wedding, so i'll also be traveling to try on bridesmaid dresses. hopefully the petite is "petite" enough for me... my short little legs don't do well in floor length dresses!

just when i think life is ok... i get a reality check to realize it sucks. it's just another day... and i hate when things happen that i don't understand or can't control. blah blah blah...
update: everything is fine with me... but things sometimes happen that make me wonder about life sometimes. nothing to worry about though... just one of those days...
