Ugh! Sorry for the site being down. My host must have been having some problems, so I've been without email or a website for two days. No worries... no email was lost. So if you sent it to me, it just took a few more days to get delivered. But I got them!
Joe and I have been extremely busy the past week. On top of trying to find room for all our gifts, we also went out to the DMV to change our address (I know, it's about time considering we moved in October), and I had my makeup trial done for the day of the wedding :) It came out really well, but the photos I took really don't do it justice. So we'll leave that as a surprise. We had friends over on Sunday, and managed to get things mostly cleaned. This weekend Joe leaves for Atlantic City for his bachelor party! He's beyond excited... his brother flies in Thursday, and then his friends from down here are all carpooling with them to arrive Friday evening. So I have the house to myself the whole weekend :) It should give me ample time to clean and get wedding stuff done (and try and keep my mind off of what they are up to) :) Then the following weekend we meet with our Wedding Coordinator, have our dance lesson, and get our marriage license! Fun stuff :) We're less than eight weeks away... I've got A LOT to do! Meeting with the coordinator should ease my mind greatly. She will help flush out a lot of the little details, and take charge on contacting all my vendors. I'm really, really happy I have someone else to do wedding related stuff, and it's not all on me :)
So wish me luck that I keep sane. I'm sure you'll all be glad when this wedding is over, so I can quit obsessing about it in every post ;) 53 days and counting!!

We're back! We made it home, car full and dog in tow, and I'm exhausted. The shower was beautiful. My mom really went all out, and my bridesmaids worked like crazy to make it go extremely smooth. Everyone was really generous with their gifts, and I have to start working on my thank you cards, even though they really won't do justice to how thankful I am to everyone that came. One thing I realized that makes me a little nervous for the wedding, is that all that attention really wreaked havoc on my nerves. I was an anxious mess two days before... luckily my bridesmaids got me through it all. There are so many things I was trying to keep straight, trying to make sure I talked with everyone, that everyone was having a good time, and that I didn't offend anyone by opening gifts too fast, too slow, not saying thank you or not showing how happy I was with the gifts.... etc, etc. Being the bride for the shower puts you in the spotlight the entire time... and with 70 people in attendance, that's A LOT of attention. So by 9pm, I was EXHAUSTED, and passed out on the couch. I'm scared what this means for the wedding, and I'm hoping I find better ways to cope with things that day... otherwise I'm worried I'll be too stressed to enjoy it all.
Speaking of stressed... we're officially 60 days from the wedding, today :) 2 months from tomorrow's date, or 8 weeks from this Saturday... however you want to look at it, it's zooming in! Luckily, I have no more weekends that I plan to be travelling, so I have them all free to get things done. In the meantime, Joe leaves next weekend for his bachelor party in Atlantic City, and then my mom comes to visit the weekend of the 23rd. So pretty much, it's wedding stuff non-stop until I am sitting on that cruise ship, sipping margueritas :) Tomorrow morning Joe and I go to the courthouse to get our marriage license, and then this weekend we go to pick up our wedding rings. Then sometime next week I have to get to the DMV, since my parking registration is expired. Doh.
I'll post photos of the shower when we get them back from my Aunt. They're film photos, so it will be a while before someone prints them out and mails them to me... hopefully someone with a digital camera will get them to me sooner :)

In between doing work, cleaning house, and working on wedding stuff (10 weeks from today by the way!), I'm trying to practice with photos to get better at it. Here I decided to practice while Bailey lounged in the sun. I used the manual settings and had fun playing with different exposures and lighting effects:

After the wedding, I'm taking a photography class, and also upgrading my camera to the Canon Rebel XTi :) It's the best amateur camera I can find, for the right price. Plus I'm a Canon lover... I fell in love with their powershot family of cameras, and have continued to be impressed. Not that I'm any expert :) I'm really hoping the class will teach me how to frame my subjects better, and how to get the best lighting. I have trouble with low lights, and with getting the right thing in focus.
Anyway, this weekend we finished our template for our programs, and I've sent them off to the priest for final approval. That way once we get back from our shower next weekend, it should be ready for mass production. Then once I get those out of the way, I can finish our CD favors. We've started getting RSVP's back through the mail, which is always fun :) We also got our first wedding present! It's a food processor/blender combo from Cuisinart. SO FUN!! I can't wait to try it out :) We're going to have a lot to do over the next few weeks... I can't believe how fast time is flying!
In other news, this week marks the year anniversary of my and Joe's engagement :) We'll probably hit La Lomita's on Wed to mark the occasion, and then Friday we leave for Michigan! Nice 3 day weekend, and then back to work. Hopefully I'll have some fun photos of the shower to post when we get back!
