Well, we made it to 7 months! We've been super busy both at work and at home lately, hence the lack of updates. But we've had a great time!
The baptism went really well, and Ben's godfather (Bob) and godmother (Danielle) did a great job :) The party was a success, and it was fun having both sets of parents in town for a few days. I didn't get any super good photos of Ben in his little white suit, but it didn't fit him well anyway (even though it was a 12 month outfit). I haven't uploaded the photos from the ceremony yet, but I'll try and add a few of those tonight.

Then for Father's Day, Joe played softball, and Ben sported his new Syracuse outfit (thanks Bob!) :)

We finally made it out to Michigan, and while it was great seeing everyone, it was a rough few days. The way there was fairly uneventful (other than the insane traffic Thursday night), and we got to the hotel in Pennsylvania around 11pm. Even though we had a pack and play in the room, Ben wound up sleeping in our bed, with the dog. Who then woke us all up at 5am when she wanted to go outside. Usually we can ignore her, but because baby was right there, once he's up, we're all up. So we got back on the road, stopped to visit with Laura and Mike (who are due with their baby on the 24th) and eventually made it out to the family reunion on Saturday. We had bragged about what a good and happy baby Ben was to all the relatives, but he was being anything BUT. Totally not his normal self. I was afraid that he was doing a repeat of his last trip to Michigan and coming down with a cold. Over the previous week, he had started getting up at 4am, then 3am.. and over that weekend had decided 2am was a great time to be awake. Then I noticed his cough, and that he felt feverish, and that he also wasn't eating much... and sure enough on Sunday his temperature climbed to 101 degrees. *sigh* So then on our trip back on Monday, he was fine for most of the ride, but when I took his temperature it had climbed up to 102, and he started getting upset again. The last few hours were tough, but once we got home, he seemed to settle down. And that's when Joe discovered the TOOTH :) No wonder the poor guy hadn't been sleeping or eating! Ben got his first tooth that weekend, and by the end of last week, he was 100% back to normal (and sleeping through the night again) PHEW! I hope all his teeth aren't this hard! We did drag him to the doctor after his temp went up to 102, and did verify that on top of teething, Ben did have a small cold. But nothing serious! Here are some photos from the weekend (we got him those few times he actually was smiling):

Last weekend I got together with our moms group, and since most of the babies were tired and overdue for naptime, we decided to do a mom/baby photoshoot instead. They're all getting so big!

I have more photos from the baptism, and more photos of Benny in his jumper, that he finally figured out how to enjoy :) My dad is also working with me on finding a better video editing program, since the SONY one is just too big to run on my computer. Until I can afford to update that ;) But hopefully I can get some videos online as well, and post those soon!
When we took him to the doctor for his cold, Ben weighed 21 pounds 7 ounces... definitely outgrown his infant carseat now! We are heading out to the big baby store this weekend to test drive some carseats in Joe's car, to see which ones are the best fit. We need a tall one, but since he still has to rear face for 5 more months, we have to make sure it's not TOO tall, and won't interfere with the front seats.
In terms of development, Ben can sit without support, and gets stronger at that every day. He still topples, but yesterday he could hold it for a few minutes at a time before nose diving :) No attempts at crawling, but he can put his feet together while on his stomach, and push forward a bit. He has almost mastered rolling from his stomach to his back, but at least now he falls asleep on his stomach without complaint, and prefers to sleep in that position. He is babbling like crazy, and I love hearing his "stories" every day. He says "da-da-da-da" and "tha-tha-tha" a lot... no words yet. But when he says "Da!" to the dog, it sounds like "dog" :)
So more photos tonight (hopefully) and looking forward to our trip in August for Lobsterfest in NY!!
